Definition

  • The existing lowest bidder method consistently raised issues around lack of diversity and poor quality. Multiple Award Schedule, on the other hand, selects multiple suppliers to encourage healthy competition over price and quality, and enhance the right to choose by proponents. Fit in today’s e-commerce age brought on by IT advances and the spread of the Internet, it is widely used in US and Canada, etc.
  • MAS targets more than two contracting counterparts that allow proponents to select equal or similar types of products in terms of quality and efficiency to satisfy varying demands. Contract is signed upon negotiation with those that have met certain standards such as delivery and business health and proponents get to freely choose products from Korea E-Procurement System online shopping mall(http:/shopping.g2b.go.kr).
