Disaster safety products Definition

  • Disaster safety products developed with related technologies and highly affect people’s lives whose adequacy has been certified and approved with the presidential decree.
  • Validity is three years from the date of certification but it can be extended subject to re-deliberation.

Products subject to disaster safety certification

  • Products that can be used in preventing/preparing against/responding to and recovering disasters
  • Products that can protect human life/body or property from disasters or various types of incidents
  • Products that can mitigate damage from disaster or enhance safety management level by having them used by the public

Basis for certifying disaster safety products

  • Function as disaster safety product should be precisely performed to suit purpose of product design and use
  • Efficiency, usability and convenience of maintaining disaster safety products should meet the level defined by Minister of Public Administration and Security

Basis of sole sourcing of disaster safety products

  • Disaster safety products certified for their adequacy as per Item 1, Clause 4, Article 73 of Basic Act on Disaster and Safety Management

  • Disaster safety products certified for their adequacy as per Item 1, Clause 4, Article 73 of Basic Act on Disaster and Safety Management
    ※ 9, “D”, Clause 6, Article 25, Local Government Contracting Act
